The benefits of gradient lenses
Gradient lenses are tinted darker at the top and fade to lighter at the bottom, very useful for cutting glare from bright skies. So while polarized lenses are best for high-glare activities, gradient lenses are typically the best choice for driving and time spent in overhead sunlight, as the lenses shield from the top while still allowing you to comfortably see through the middle of the lens.
The benefits of polarized lenses
Polarized lenses are known for their advanced technology that allows them to block unwanted glare that reflects off of certain surfaces, and when this glare is reduced you can see your surroundings more clearly. But polarized lenses aren't just for people who love water sports or going hiking. They can be helpful for driving too, since they reduce the glare that reflects off car glass and roads.
The benefits of mirrored lenses
Mirrored lenses have a metallic layer on the outside that reflects glare away from the sunglasses rather than letting it in, reducing the amount of light entering the eyes. They can primarily be a fashion choice, but they are also great for outdoor activities in very bright conditions, like skiing and watersports, as they protect your eyes from glare bouncing off surfaces.
How do prescription sunglasses protect your eyes?
UV protection is an important part of any pair of prescription sunglasses, because overexposure to UV rays can increase the risk of developing certain eye conditions. UV protection is just as important during winter as it is in summer because the sun can reflect off snow or even when it’s cloudy.
Same vision clarity as with eyeglasses
If you wear glasses, prescription sunglasses give you the freedom to wear just about any frame you love with the protection you need. Choose from a range of UV blocking prescription sun lenses. Many brands, like Ray-Ban, Oakley and Costa offer prescription lenses, so you can get an authentic frame and lens package.
Customers can order glasses with or without a prescription from Glasses.com.
To order one with prescription, you must have a current prescription from an optometrist or ophthalmologist. If you do not have your prescription from an eye doctor, Glasses.com can arrange for an eye exam.
