High-index lenses

High-index lenses are a special type of lenses that are more efficient at refracting light to correct vision. The lens index refers to the materialā€™s ability to refract light and the amount of material needed to do so. High index glasses are thus glasses with superior refractive capabilities, able to reach a prescription power with less material compared to traditional lenses, making for a lighter lens. High index lenses are made through a complex manufacturing process and lens treatment that requires expert craftsmanship, and as such, the high-index lens cost is significantly higher than standard lenses.
